Working with schools
Farnley Estates offers a wealth of educational opportunities for children of all ages. We already work closely with the local first school, Farnley Tyas C of E (C) First School, and welcome outdoor education visits from other schools in the local area.
We’re keen to open up our land to other schools, colleges and universities for outdoor educational purposes. As we’re a working farm, we do ask that you call our office, on 01484 665544, to arrange your visit in advance.
We also ask that you download, complete and return our School Visit Form. It’s part of our Higher Level Stewardship agreement with Natural England, and shows that we’re encouraging schools and organisations to use our land for educational purposes.
You can download our Teacher Resource Pack here.
Farnley Tyas First School
To encourage the next generation, and help develop their natural curiosity about the environment in which they live and go to school, we've developed a close relationship with Farnley Tyas First School.
Ofsted reported that ‘Outdoor education gives depth to the curriculum and makes an important contribution to students’ physical, personal and social education.’
